Passenger ship Sarfaq Ittuk near Ilulissat
Most of our guests at Hotel Arctic arrive by air from Copenhagen or Reykjavik, while some arrive by sea. We pick you up at the airport or port as a complimentary service. The passenger ship ‘Sarfaq Ittuk’ calls the towns at the west coast of Greenland in a weekly schedule, Ilulissat every Sunday. (Photo: Mads Pihl – Visit Greenland)
The calving glacier at Eqi
Eqi, the calving glacier, is an impressive experience. Parts of the glacier front – five kilometers wide! – break loose every few minutes. The sound is incredible, too. (Photo: Leif Taurer – Visit Greenland)
Glacier Lodge Eqi north of Ilulissat
The Eqi glacier is located 80 kilometers north of Ilulissat – just a few hours by boat. However you my want to stay overnight in Glacier Lodge Eqi to experience the colours of the ice in the midnight sun. (Foto: Mads Pihl – Visit Greenland)
Kayaking near Ilulissat
Kayaking in our waters is a breathtaking experience. (Photo: Mads Pihl – Visit Greenland)
3 kayaks in front of an Ilulissat iceberg
You may rent kayaks in Ilulissat – book in advance! – but our rough nature requires skills and experience. (Photo: Mads Pihl – Visit Greenland)
Ilulissat Water Taxi next to icebergs
A fast and less demanding alternative to kayaking is Ilulissat Water Taxi. (Photo: Mads Pihl – Visit Greenland)
The view from Hotel Arctic to the Ilulissat Icefjord
Staying in Hotel Arctic is unique: This is the view from the hotel. (Photo: Mads Pihl – Visit Greenland)
The aluminium clad igloos at Hotel Arctic
The five igloos outside Hotel Arctic offer an extra dimension: Completely silence, in the first row to the grand Arctic scenery – and yet just 100 meters from the services of the hotel. (Photo: Mads Pihl – Visit Greenland)
